Per enteric-coated tablet:

Directions for Use

  1. Adults: Take 1 tablet daily with water, as directed by your doctor.
  2. Take with food to help reduce stomach irritation.
  3. Swallow whole โ€“ do not crush or chew the enteric-coated tablet.
  4. Always follow your doctorโ€™s advice regarding aspirin therapy.

Important Safety Information

  • Doctor supervision required: Only take Cartia if advised by your doctor. Low-dose aspirin therapy is not suitable for everyone and should only be started under medical guidance.
  • Bleeding risk: Aspirin increases the risk of bleeding. Do not use if you have a bleeding disorder, active peptic ulcer, or are at high risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice. Aspirin is contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy.
  • Drug Interactions: Aspirin interacts with many medications including warfarin, other NSAIDs, and some antidepressants. Inform your doctor and pharmacist of all medications you are taking.
  • Aspirin allergy: Do not use if you are allergic to aspirin, salicylates, or NSAIDs.
  • Children & teenagers: Do not give aspirin to children or teenagers under 16 years due to the risk of Reyeโ€™s syndrome.
