Do not fill the hot water bottle with boiling water and do not fill it more than 2/3 full. Hold the hot water bottle upright and place it on a solid base, filling slowly to avoid splashes of hot water. Remove the air by squeezing the bottle until water can be seen from the opening. Screw the cap on hand tight, until you are sure that the seal is tight; do not use a tool to tighten.
